Renewable energy as the name suggests is the energy that could be created by renewable resources. The resources that have a never ending supply on earth. Like the solar energy, the water current, the wind energy etc. Energies as such would always be there. They have always been in the past and not even an iota of it has been depleted. Making renewable energy with these resources is what the modern world is looking at. Currently the source of energy is the non renewable resource that comes after burning the fossil fuels. As we burn them we are not only exhausting the non- renewable resources but producing lots of carbon dioxide and gases that are dangerous and that pollute the environment. This is primarily responsible for the global warming depleting the ozone layer. Thereby letting us exposed to the ultra violate radiation of the sun. In a scenario like this, making renewable energy not only becomes important but indispensable.

There are various kinds of renewable energy. We have the solar energy from the sun; wind energy from the movement of wind turbines; biomass energy; hydropower; burning waste and geothermal energy. Making renewable energy from any one or a combination of ant of them is what we are striving for.

Making renewable energy is important, it doesn’t matter which one you are using to create energy as long as it’s renewable. The best one to making renewable energy would depend upon the kind of life style the place has and the geographical area the place were the installation is intended to be has. As for example, the near the shore areas would prefer to making renewable energy by the use of windmills. Setting up such installations would also help provide new job opportunities.

If we consider the cost of making renewable energy as compared to the use of non –renewable resources – to start with it’s a little to the higher side. The reason it being on the higher side is that as if now we don’t have infrastructure that could support the renewable resources as we have for the non- renewable resources. Now when we strive to calculate the cost of burning the fossil fuels we are only considering the acquiring cost of them. What we forget to add is the cost that we would be paying once we use up all of them. We are not incorporating the cost of the damage that it’s doing to the environment by producing carbon dioxide and other harming gases. We are neglecting the cost of the global warming that it’s increasing for us and the depletion of ozone layer. It’s not even possible to add that cost to the acquisition cost of the non-renewable resources, as all of them are simply price less. Now, if we add all that cost we would see that making renewable energy is relatively an inexpensive proposition.
That would not only save the non – renewable resources from getting exhausted but would also help creating a better environment for our coming generations.
